YMCA Camp Eberhart

Outdoor Education

The Outdoor Education program currently serves over 2,000 local students each year. During a two- to five-day stay at YMCA Camp Eberhart, students experience school in a new environment. We have a range of classes that correspond with school curriculum and can be adapted for the 4th to 7th grade level by our excellent Outdoor Education instructors. Many of the classes relate closely to the curriculum for both MEAP testing in Michigan and ISTEP testing in Indiana.

For an idea of some of the classes offered, check out our curriculum guide. Much of our curriculum is teamwork and education-based, but we can always find a little time for recreational activities such as canoeing or archery.

If you know of any schools or teachers in the Michiana (Northern Indiana/Southern Michigan) area whose students would benefit from this program, please call YMCA Camp Eberhart (888.YCAMPEB or 269.244.5125) to request our Teacher's Handbook.
